Here is a wonderful 19th century european work bench, with a beautiful aged patina that only age can produce. The work bench is so solid and simple in its construction that it can be dis-assembled for easy transportation (as a working bench it would of been transported back in the day by a horse or cattle cart). This would be wonderful as a kitchen island, a dining table, in a large hallway or even in an artists studio/office desk. The top is made from Ash (one solid piece) and the legs from pine. the vice threads have been carved from fruitwood. there is also an original oak draw underneath (with superb cast iron handle). Remarkably there is even a pair of 'wood dogs', that would of been used along with the vice to hold wood in place for decorative carving or simple planning. Whichever way you look at this bench, it is a real eye catcher, a talking piece and boy is it unique!
Measurements are: 215cm in length, 83cm in height and 63cm in width (the vast majority of the top, although with the vice to the left it makes 100cm in width)
