Eastern European pine/glass cabinet. Superb paintwork; five to six layers in some areas (hopefully, I have captured this in the photos, as it has to be seen to be appreciated in full). The cabinet is dated circa 1850-1860 and the almost mustard yellow colour is very much in keeping with today's rustic feel. There are hints of green and red that can be recognised (especially on the cornice moulding on the top of the cabinet). The inside of the cabinet has been waxed throughout, including the original shelves, which are a lovely patina. The cabinet back is of original wooden construction (not ply) and itself a joy, as the whole cabinet is so well made. The legs/feet are strong, as are the hinges to the cabinet doors.
Comprising of three shelves on the top part and a single shelf behind solid wooden doors below. Each door has a fastening brass bolt original lock and both right-hand side doors are fitted with lock and key.
Cabinet measurements:
Height: 164cm Length: 103cm Depth (Top); 41cm (Bottom): 53cm
Great in a kitchen, hallway or even a very tasteful bathroom. A fabulous and unique piece. One of our favourites!
