Haberdashery Set of Graduated Drawers
These drawers have come from a cotton mill in the Birmingham area. They are made up of a pine carcass with mahogany fronts with uniquely inset turned handles. Practical in work-stations during the Victorian era. Fine dove-tail joints. As these were for a cotton mill, they were so well made as they needed to be robust and sturdy. Running through it would have been a locking system as you can still see the evidence of in the middle of the top. There was also a lock on each drawer so we can only assume that it housed something of value. The drawers were part of a bigger set, but have been cut down in size to make them of greater practical use in the home. I have also added a plinth for more refinement. The inset handles are pretty cool!
The drawers are graduated and solid. You will have no worries about drawer bottoms collapsing under the weight of whatever you put in them. The drawers are pretty deep which make them have greater practical use. A rare find!
