Superior and beautiful Oak Plan Chest, which would make the perfect coffee table. Viewed from 360 degrees, this fine 1920’s old chap has wonderful panelled sides and back. The solid oak top is superb and the original brass handles finish the drawers off perfectly. Once the plan chest was sanded, it was stained before 2 coats of Fiddes hard wax oil was applied (3 coats for the top). Thus, you don’t have to do anything, no waxing and if there is any spillage from coffee or wine, you can wipe clean. I find Fiddes oil wax give it a fantastic rich warm colour, keeping all it’s charm and character. The fact that this is the bottom half of a 2 section plan chest, means you have the added bonus of having a plinth bottom. The dovetail joints and the choice of oak shows that this was made by a carpenter of distinction and superior to most you will find on eBay etc.
