Quite simply one of the most amazing cabinets your likely to come across: if your into your apothecary, small cabinets, finest of detailed dovetails and all. Please look at the patina of the mahogany, look at the finest detail in the dovetails and then look at just how well each drawer closes. This would have been made for someone of high importance and there is a lockable bottom drawer, if you wish to have further proof. Think about if you were to have one of these made today, just how much would it cost (personally, I would put the figure between £900-£1200 and if you think thats over exaggerating, please, ask a cabinet maker, if you can find one that is skilled enough to build one as fine).
Yes, this is superb: just look at each of the turned handles... look at the brass, slightly gothic handles on each side of the cabinet. Even the inside of the drawers are made from oak and cedar - now, that's how much thought went into this cabinet. This would look amazing in someone's bedroom, sitting room or living space and this could quite easily be a museum piece, given the craftsmanship and condition of a cabinet that is over 125 years old. Perhaps, these points are overlooked by many, but there might be one person that thinks this is too special to ignore
It's a superb find. A real one-off and certainly, such a piece you will not see again.
