Standing at an impressive 103cm, 75cm in width and 68cm in depth, I doubt very, very much you'll find a better cabinet that could house an array of subjects. So, whether you are an artist or photographer of some distinction, a draftsman, a landscape gardner, a serious collector or a be-spoke framer whom wants to stand out from the crowd - this unique piece might be just for you.
Dating from the late 1940's/early 1950's this was sourced in Birmingham and was home to over a thousand small drill bits and lathes, for precise machinery components. Yep, this is pretty much as industrial as you get, but, wow, now take a look at the work involved in making such a cabinet. The drawers are made of pitch pine and each of the 13 smaller drawers have wonderful solid brass handles on either side, plus a brass plaque with the measurements of each drill/lathe bit. It so impressive, each drawer runs so smooth and just to indicate even further that this cabinet housed expensive equipment there was a locking device, which would of ran straight up the middle of the drawers. The last 2 deep drawers are an added bonus and the copper/brass handles are just quality. In fact, nothing has been cut short: the side panels are superb and the top/moulding just about finishes this old chap off perfectly, so much so, I can't fault it;.
I was reluctant to list it, as my partner & I love it so much. Hey ho, it's business, so here it is!
It's a heavy fella, however, delivery to your door is possible.
Thanks for looking.
