You are viewing a quite beautiful European pine dresser which dates from around 1870-80. This was bought at a fair in France, however, judging by the legs I have a strong feeling this is Swedish, therefore from the Gustavian period. Yes, you'd be right in thinking that this is a little jewell, with an exceptional patina. Please, be aware that I have photographed this in both bright sunlight and cloudy conditions, hence the difference in the colour seen in the photographs. I would say photos 3,5,7 and 9 are more representative of it's true colour.
This dresser is around 150 years old (the pine used is over 200 years old), therefore, the depth and warmth of the pine is quite wonderful. Another clue to it's provenience is it's solid brass handles, they have been changed, but, they are certainly European, as is the cupboard plates that go over the locks - I'll let you be the judge on that one! The dovetails on the top and the 2 drawers are super (can you tell that I love it?!). Anyway, it has a solid pine panelled back which makes for a very strong structured piece and the dresser is full of character. This dresser would suit a rustic home and could go in either a bedroom, large hallway or bedroom. Anyone who buys this will certainly not be disappointed.
