You are viewing a superb example of an Oak Architects 6 Drawer Plan Chest, having so much charm and a character. The condition is fantastic: the top being pretty much scratch free, which is remarkable for it's age. The original panelled back and sides show the makers name after 100 years 'OFCO' of Pimlico, London (when phone numbers were just 4 digits!). Original brass cup handles and index cards shout out style and class of which you just don't see on later 1940-60's plan chests. These earlier examples are of quality workmanship demonstrated by the dovetailed drawers (front and back).
It is stunning to look at and I have tried to photo it in sunlight and in the shade - sunlight shows the dark patina more, but underneath it is a warm rich oak colour that oozes a certain regency look and the oak plinth is just a quality finishing touch).
